[ announcement ] 2021 charity pin!

Hi guys! Long time no update! It's been a super hectic year so far, but as recently posted on my social media, I have released two new pin designs for 2021, one being for Blue & Grey and the other being for Trivia : Love.

2021 and 2020 have been two years where we have seen heightened racism towards Asian Americans and an upswing of anti-asian hate crimes, many of which did not get much traction in the mainstream media. As an Asian American myself, this hits hard especially since several of the attacks happened close to where I personally work, and also because a lot of the victims were around my parent's age. Because of this I have decided to make my Trivia: Love design my 2021 charity pin where 50% of profits will go back toward the AAPI community.

The organization that I have chosen to donate funds to is called Heart of Dinner and you can read more about their story here on their website. The org is founded by two wonderful women who cook, package and deliver hot lunches & fresh produce for the elderly (often homebound) Asian community in NYC. Each of their meals is paired with a illustration & handwritten note in Chinese or Korean and are dropped off each week by volunteers.

To me, it's a wonderful mix of combining art and the comfort of food, while uplifting and creating a positive change.
